Picknick in Zeeland II (in the series: Safe places in the lowlands)
The first Picnic in Z was a hiding place, safe for the rising water, Picnic i Z II is besides that also a tribute to the water.
The wave that washes through the house provides besides a lovely view also protection from the rain and the sun.
All my safe places are inspired by the 1953 flooding of this area, due to storm and the collapse of some dykes.
The inauguration of Picnic in Zeeland II was part of the Giro de Picnic, organised by the one and only Jaap Versput.
